An uncommon gastropod from Hawaii is the umbrella shell, Umbraculum sinicum.
The following shells were once considered very rare but now can be found in many private shell collections.

A,B and C are two forms of Conus gloriamaris, the glory of the sea cone. A and C are called the pale form. B measures 126mm from end to end. The cotton in C helps protect the fragile "lip" from breaking.
